What is equity conciliation?
It is a flexible procedure that enables the parties to resolve their disputes in a less formal setting than the judicial system. Conciliation is provided for in the National Constitution (Art. 116) and it is regulated by law, which establishes that conciliated agreements have the same legal effects as decisions issued by judges.

Who serves as Conciliator? A person from the community who was trained to perform
his/her functions in civil, commercial, labor, agrarian and family matters that are capable
of being settled, abandoned and conciliated. Depending on the type of community, the
conciliator may be a senior citizen, a committed young person, a community mother,
a merchant, a religious leader, a doctor, etc
